Friday Favorites-First of March

You guys, we did it! We survived the longest and the coldest two months of the year. Does anyone else just feel like a rockstar for making it through the dead of winter? We are nowhere near in the clear yet, in fact they are predicting more snow for us early next week. Also, has anyone noticed I almost always talk about the weather in my Friday Favorite posts? Woops! I am just really really excited about spring, okay? ;-)

1. Sweet Brothers
I will be honest, some days my kids give me a run for my money. They are loud, and are also both 100% boy. I would be lying if I said some days I didn't crave the quiet that I naively assume comes with having girls, but that feeling also vanishes immediately when my boys say or do something sweet. Sometimes the sound of their little voices just makes my heart hurt because I know that before I know it, those little voices will be big voices and my boys won't be so little. They butt heads like you would not believe, and there is a 87% chance that Lincoln actually wanted nothing to do with this picture ;-) but those moments where I see these two being brothers and loving each other so fiercely make every exhausting moment of being a #boymom worth it. I fear for anyone who tries to mess with these two in the future, while Jackson may love to irritate his brother, I have also seen him jump to his defense the moment he saw someone else doing something upsetting to Lincoln. I am so lucky to be their mama.

2. Fun Toddler Jammies
Until my boys stop wearing toddler sizes, this should probably just be a standing item on my favorites. I can never get enough! If you don't know, Jackson is absolutely obsessed with snowmen, and while this may be late to the game, he finally discovered the movie Frozen and Olaf is his new favorite character. He can sing his entire 'In Summer' routine by memory, and when I showed him these pajamas he about died of pure joy. I actually forgot about them, until he told his daycare provider that I had bought them and he would be wearing them that night. Woops! I had to explain to him the mailman would be bringing them, but it wouldn't be for a few days. He wasn't happy with me, but thank goodness Gap had them at 40% off, so I bought them up right away! I just cannot say no to my kids you guys, it's a problem.
I am totally guilty of giving Lincoln all of the hand me downs, and 99% of the time it is fine. Jackson had SO many clothes that most of them were only worn a few times, so Lincoln is wearing things in perfect condition. But he is definitely getting to the age where he has his own likes and interests. He saw Jackson's Buzz Lightyear pajamas on the floor this week, and got SO excited and wanted to wear them. Of course his brother did not want to share his clothing, and my heart broke a little and I was reminded that two years ago, I would have scooped those jammies up from the store in a heartbeat for big brother, and I need to make sure Lincoln gets that same special treatment sometimes! So I saw these Toy Story jammies and just bought them for my sweet littlest guy. He is going to be so excited!

3. All Things Yellow
I am feeling all the sunshine vibes this week, and as a result am all over all of the yellow things! I got this top in the mail last week and am still just in love with it. These bright jeans just came out at Gap, and I am all over them. I am still lusting over these chinos, does anyone have them!? With free shipping, I might have to bite the bullet today. And with lots of weddings and showers coming up over the next six months, I would love a bright, sunny dress like this one, and you can't beat the price!

4. Baby Shower
My mom and I are hosting a baby shower for my sister-in-law tomorrow, she is having a precious baby girl! As a boy mom, I am going to be honest and say I have been having so much fun doing all of the pink things! I grabbed this 'baby' balloon, and couldn't resist this tablecloth either! I am just dying to share the rest of the details after the party, so much pink, and so many sparkles!
A little preview of something I am working on for the shower!

5. Dirty Hair
Earlier this week, I shared the details on how I have transitioned from washing my hair daily to only two times per week. And I just loved all of the feedback I got from you guys! So many of you commented over on my Instagram with products you use to help get between days, how long you can go, and it was just so much fun to hear everyone's experiences! If you have been wanting to go longer between washes, be sure to check it out!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and soak up the fact that spring is finally in sight! And if you have a spare second or two, maybe say a prayer for Minnesota to not get the snow they are promising us on Sunday night ;-)

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday friends! We have had a week full of snow and cold, but mother nature was nice enough to throw in some sunny days to at least lift our spirits a bit that way. Of course I wouldn't be lying if I said I wasn't ridiculously jealous of everyone out east. I heard temps in the 60s and 70s!? I will take that over our -17 wind chill, thank you very much.
While it may not feel like spring here just yet, I have been doing all of the spring prep around here lately and am getting in the spirit. Isn't it funny how with every new season we are always ready? This time of year, I just swoon over anything pastel, cheerful, and fresh. The heart knows what it wants!

1. All of the Spring Fashion
I have officially reached that point in winter where I am all about the pretty pastel colors. I grabbed my favorite tunic in a pretty yellow color this week, and I now own it in SIX colors. If that doesn't speak true love, I don't know what does! Colors go in and out of stock often, so if you are interested in one check back and refresh the page, there are always new colors and sizes that appear! I also used my reward points to purchase these lavender rockstar jeans. I love the pretty pink color too, I have held off so far because the distressing (which I love) makes them a no-go for work. And after being on the hunt for literally two years, I finally found a pair of pale yellow chinos that come in TALL! Of course, I am cheap and am waiting for at least some free shipping to come to play. Do any of you have the anthro chinos? I have no idea how they fit or what size to order!

2. Cute Party Shop
I just discovered Glitter Party Co., and if you are planning any sort of party, for little ones, a bridal shower, baby shower, anything, she makes the most adorable banners, cupcake toppers, cake toppers, and random décor. I have some spring garland coming my way, and she is making a custom cake topper for a shower I am hosting. I am already dreaming up ideas for things I can have her create-she does such amazing work!

3. DIY Body Wash
Since we have started using essential oils more regularly in our home, I have been having so much fun determining what we can switch out. There are body washes and bar soaps that you can purchase, but being as frugal as I am I never consider myself above trying to see if I can create a DIY for my changes. I purchased these bottles in a two pack, and then a few ingredients you can pick up right in Target or your health foods store to complete. You can head over to this video to watch and see how I made it! The best part is that you can choose any scent you want. I adore the smell of eucalyptus, especially in the shower, so I used eucalyptus and spearmint and am hooked!

4. Fun Toddler Styles
I have surprised myself by not buying the boys many clothes over the past few months. I have such an abundance of hand me downs that it sometimes makes it hard to justify buying many new things for Lincoln (second child problems, I know). His closet is honestly overflowing with items, but I still feel the need to buy him special new items now and again that are brand spanking new and just for him. I saw this fun monster sweatshirt and knew it would be perfect for my little monster. You guys, he about dies when he gets to zip and unzip the mouth on it! I also snagged him this cute pair of jeans from Old Navy, they are super stretchy which is perfect for active little ones. And one of my all time favorite items for my boys has been these cream colored jeans. They are seriously SO cute, and the color makes them work for dressier occasions, too. In fact, Jackson wore them for Easter a few years ago!
And speaking of Easter, Old Navy has their pop of color khakis back. And this obnoxious shirt actually exists and is perfect. You're welcome.

5. New Mattress
Earlier this week I shared our review of the new Leesa mattress we got last month. It was originally intended for Lincoln, but we got cold feet with transitioning him from his crib and Jackson immediately claimed the mattress for himself. Woops. Jackson LOVES it though. Be sure to head over and read the full review; I have a great promo code if you are in the market for a new mattress! I never knew how much we could love memory foam!

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend. We are in for some more snow, but at least it will be in the 30s! Fingers are crossed we get in one more sledding day!

Friday Favorites-Middle Of January

It is Friday, and I could not be more excited. I'll be honest; January is not my favorite month. But this year, despite being constantly sick and it being bitterly cold, there have been some fun and exciting things happening that are making this long month much more bearable! So before I run around outside in my shorts and a t-shirt because it is hitting 40 degrees outside today ;-) I am excited to share my favorites from this week!

1. Bathtime Giggles
I have gotten so bad about snapping candids lately. I mean you guys, I do not have a SINGLE photo from Christmas Eve with Mike's family. Oops! But earlier this week, Lincoln was being SO adorable and giggly after bathtime, and I couldn't resist snapping a few photos. I just want to bottle him up at this age. I always find things I love at every age with my children, but this 18 months-2 years stage. It kills me. It is peak sweetness, and he is so chubby and squishy and adorable I find myself wanting to literally eat his perfect little cheeks. Don't worry, I refrain. I just love him so much.

2. New Diaper Bag
I posted earlier this week about my new diaper bag, and you guys, I just could not love it more. I literally get a compliment on it every. single. time. I go anywhere with it. After over three years of rocking the boy mom gig, I have finally decided that the men in my life are just going to have to deal with there being more pink than they may like (this throw blanket may also be a new addition to our living room decor). But back to the diaper bag; compared to others I have used I love the depth and height of this bag. I feel like I can fit SO much inside of it! If you are in the market for a diaper bag that looks nothing like a diaper bag (and will transition beyond the diaper years) I cannot recommend this one enough.

3. Fun and Easy Toddler Craft
We finally broke our cold spell this week, but we had another very cold stretch that lasted through all of last weekend, which meant we didn't get out with the boys at all. Influenza is running rampant too, so we are sticking as low as we can over this next month, because we did the Influenza dance with Jackson once, and I never want to do it again. So last weekend, I grabbed some construction paper, glue, and a sharpie market and drew a large snowman and let Jackson glue down mini marshmallows along all of the lines. He loved it SO much, and it was so incredibly easy to pull together! If you are looking for a quick, easy, and relatively mess free way to kill the time on a cold winter afternoon, this is such a fun option! Toddler bonus points because they can and will steal copious amounts of marshmallows.
4. This Jacket
Okay, so last week I rounded up a few of my favorites and gushed over this jacket. I love the pale purple color so much! But when I saw this gray fleece option, I about died. And bless my height, it comes in a size TALL. It just looks so perfect for spring, I need it!
5. HOW ABOUT THEM VIKES!?
How could I not wrap this up without mentioning that football game last Sunday!? You have truly probably never heard me whisper even a breath about football over here, but I just cannot help myself right now. If any of you were watching the game, you may have caught the announcers mentioning the Vikings and their history of missed field goals in the playoffs. Literally every playoff game they have ever been in has been lost by something silly such as a missed field goal where they end up losing by just a point. We have had our hearts broken so many times that I have stopped ever getting my hopes up. But that game on Sunday. My heart still races thinking about watching that final play. Our boys didn't know how to handle me and Mike screaming and jumping around. Lincoln immediately joined in and was flopping around like a fish out of water screaming his head off, and Mike quickly had Jackson yelling SKOL VIKINGS. It was one of those magical Sunday evenings you know you are going to remember. Win or lose the rest of the playoffs, they broke a curse with that game, and it was just so much fun to watch!

Friday Favorites

Well, we had three whole days with temperatures in the 30's, but don't worry, we are back to sub-zero temperatures just in time for the weekend. Can you sense my sarcasm? Okay, good, because it is definitely there. Like I have mentioned recently, these coming weeks are my least favorite of the year. But on the plus side, it is still light outside when we get home in the evenings! Baby steps, but spring time, I'm coming for you! Even in the dreary depths of winter, I always have a few things I stumble upon throughout the week that I love to share with you all!

1. Play Kitchen
This was a Christmas gift for the boys, and I am so glad that I argued it be their main gift. Jackson had been making Christmas cookies with his play-doh for the longest time, and would actually put them on a little plate and stick them beneath his play table to 'bake them' for me. He was so creative without even having the kitchen and I just knew it would be a hit with the boys. Sure enough, they play with it SO much. Jackson puts all of his play tomatoes in a bowl to make me tomato soup, and Lincoln is so serious, and will add a bunch of items to a pot, move them to the microwave, and then move them back to the stove where he stirs them with a spoon and taste tests. Kill me now, it is so darn cute. While I love the look of wooden kitchens, we did opt to go with a plastic play set, but it comes with sound effects like boiling water on the stove top and buttons on the microwave. The boys just love it-I cannot say enough good things about it!

2. Cozy thermals
These are the most basic little shirts, but for whatever reason I think they are the cutest and have bought them for Lincoln in almost every color. They were sold out earlier this week, but it looks like they were just restocked in all sizes! If you have little guys, they are perfect for layering or alone, and hold their shape very well!

3. Lavender for Lashes
Since I started using essential oils, one of the tricks I have learned is to put a few drops of lavender oil in your mascara bottle. Not only does it help keep your mascara fresh longer, but it may help with thickness. I don't have any before and after photos just yet, but I plan on sharing too because I have definitely seen a difference in thickness in the short time since doing this trick!

4. Snow Fun
Since we definitely won't be getting to enjoy outside play this weekend, I have been looking at all the photos of my sweet boys playing in the snow last weekend. It is such a tease when we have snow but it is too cold to get out and enjoy it, so when we have those rare winter days where there is snow on the ground, sun in the sky, and temps above freezing, we absolutely take advantage and soak it up! I just love seeing how much my boys love playing outside!

5. All Things Blush
This is hardly anything new, but I am so in love with all of the pink that I am seeing in stores now that Valentine's Day is approaching and spring will follow after that. I picked up a bunch of pink hued florals for our mantle that I cannot wait to share. Target has a whole bunch of blush colored home décor out right now, too. These baskets come in multiple colors, but the pink is so pretty! I am all about throw blankets, and am wondering if I could grab this one and sneakily start incorporating pink into our master bedroom. The knit design on this pillow is so much fun, and I am dying to add this pink vase to our décor. Now if someone would share tips to putting pink all over your house without your husband noticing or caring, please share! ;-)

Friday Favorites-First of January

Whew, we made it through the first week back after the holidays! I was seriously dreading the return to work and daycare on Tuesday, I thought my kids would be in total meltdown mode. But, to my surprise they were actually super happy, sweet, and ready to go! It always gives me such a good feeling to know how happy my kids are at the daycare that they go to; we truly are lucky to have found her! Aside from working our way back into a routine, trying to eat healthier, and surviving sub zero temps for a second week straight, I love the fresh feeling that comes with the new year, and of course there are so many goodies out there to support that!

1. New Year, New Letterboard
While my letterboard isn't new, the quote on it may very well be my new favorite. I laugh every time I walk past it hanging on our wall, because it is SO true. And don't ask me if we had pizza last night for dinner, because the answer is obviously yes. I am working on cleaning up as much of my diet as I can, and am even saying goodbye to my wine for at least a month just to flush out my system, but cutting out pizza? Nope, it just isn't going to happen.

1. My First Facebook Live Event!
Well, I stepped way outside of my comfort zone this week and did a live video over on Facebook. Be on the lookout for more details next week, but we have started incorporating essential oils into our home and I hosted an online class for how to begin! It was super intimidating for me, because not only was I going live in front of people I know, I was educating on a product. But it went so well and I actually had a lot of fun! I will have the video up through Saturday, so if you want to check it out, you can do so HERE to learn more about how to use a YL Premium Starter Kit!

2. Valentine's Pajamas
Okay, yes, I am sharing more pajamas. Jackson is wearing size 5T you guys, which means my days of putting him in all of the adorable toddler pajamas are truly becoming numbered. And I saw this pair and purchased immediately for both of my boys. I absolutely love Valentine's Day (okay, I mostly just love the color pink) and it always bums me out a bit that there aren't many great options for boys. These are still very much made for boys, but so sweet and festive without including robots or 'love monsters'. I know you other boy moms know what I mean!

4. Sueded Moto Jacket
I feel like I have been lacking an in-between jacket. I have a good amount of spring options, and I have my warm down jacket that I wear most days during the frigid cold of winter. But I don't have a stylish option that is cute and easy to wear but still warm and cozy. Earlier this week, I saw this jacket at American Eagle marked down at a MAJOR discount. It is originally $150 and is on sale for only $35! I scooped it up right away; I love the moto style, and think this one looks so unique in that it is also a warmer option. I chose to go with black, and cannot wait to get my hands on it!

5. New Moisturizer/Hair Care/Do It All
As I continue to clean up my skin care routine, I grabbed a bottle of jojoba oil to mix with my essential oils when applying to my face. When I opened it, I read another suggestion on the bottle was to apply a drop to your hair as a serum when it is wet. Now trust me when I say that a little bit goes a long way, but my hair has been so dry and brittle lately, and I couldn't believe how soft a little bit of this oil made it! Way softer than my normal hair serums, in fact. If your hair has been dry and just feels dull lately, try a little bit of jojoba oil, it is amazing!

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend, we are finally supposed to see some temperatures in the 20s on Sunday, so I have my fingers crossed we can get the boys outside to do some sledding and snowman building!

Friday Favorites

Well, it has been a bit! We have been trapped in a revolving door of sickness in our home over the past month. Hand foot and mouth one week, the stomach bug the next, rounded up with terrible respiratory infections for the boys. I have my fingers crossed that it is all finally out of our systems and we are good to go for the holidays! Needless to say, we have been pretty preoccupied with tending to sick kiddos lately, but with Christmas just a few days away (what?!) I couldn't help but stopping by to share a few of the things I have been loving most this season!

1. Babes and Bokeh
In the past year, I feel like I have really figured out how to use the camera. It has allowed us to do our own family portraits (with the help of my mom who I have taught to use the camera, too!), to capturing bright, quality photos of special family events, to just capturing those sweet, every day moments of our boys. One of my favorite items I have invested in is my 50mm lens. I know all people have their own preferences for photos, but I always have adored blurred backgrounds with sharp focus points. And that lens is also what gives you the cool bokeh effect with lights! Nothing in life has been more magical than watching my children explore and experience holidays. This is my fourth Christmas as a mama, and I can say with absolute certainly that every year has been better than the last. My boys just soak up every last bit of magic, from our moving elf, to the musical ornaments on our Christmas tree, to Jackson finally understanding the whole 'Santa' thing. My sweet boy will also tell everyone that it is baby Jesus' birthday, and naturally, he also thinks this means there will be cake ;-) But back to my main point, this lens and the bokeh effect with the lights on our Christmas tree is one of my absolute favorite things!

These are hardly new or a breakthrough finding, but I finally caved and picked up a few Santa mugs for us to drink out of. And it has been one of the best purchases ever. Jackson LOVES his mug so much, he has been drinking his milk and water out of it with fun paper straws, and it is just so much fun to watch him find so much joy in something so simple. They are ceramic, so of course I am absolutely paranoid he will try to carry it into the living room and break it, so he has learned quickly he can only have it at the kitchen table ;-) To this day he still isn't so sure about hot chocolate, but these mugs are perfect for the classic milk and cookies, too!

3. Latte Bowls
After having my eye on them forever, I finally pulled the trigger on these latte bowls from Anthropolie. They were 25% off and free shipping, so I just couldn't say no. I grabbed them in mint and white, but they have so many different colors, making them perfect to mix and match. They are so pretty that they make great decorative pieces, too! I already am planning to grab the pink ones for Valentine's Day. As a boy mom, you better believe I do whatever I can to take advantage of holidays that allow me to do all of the pink things!

4. Aria Diffuser
I decided to splurge and get myself an Aria diffuser a few months ago, and it may be one of my favorite purchases of all time. It is so pretty on our mantle, and I have been having so much fun diffusing different blends, especially with the holidays happening right now. Our favorite single oil to diffuse is without question Christmas Spirit, but I also love mixing pine and lemon to smell just like a Christmas tree farm! For those of you that use oils (or have thought about using them), this diffuser is truly worth the splurge!

5. The Perfect OTS Sweater
If you love soft, cozy sweaters, this one is absolute perfect. It is thick and super warm, and the foldover top truly stays off the shoulder without a struggle! It is so cozy, and pairs perfectly with leggings, because we all know none of us are planning to eat healthy over the next week. Express has been running such good sales lately, this ruffle sweater is so pretty, and I am obsessed with the vibrant pink color of this one!

I am still in disbelief that Christmas is only three days away. We have family functions going on every day this weekend, and I cannot wait! I don't think I have been this excited for a Christmas morning than the last year that Santa was real to me. Sometimes I just cannot help but be overwhelmed by the wonder and magic that having children has brought back into my life. Merry Christmas, my friends!

Friday Favorites

We have made it to another Friday! And we are already into the middle of November; how crazy is that? For whatever reason, I have been feeling extra festive this year, and while my husband refuses any Christmas décor going up until the day after Thanksgiving, you better believe I have already been enjoying holiday cups from Starbucks and Christmas music on my car rides ;-) Since it has been awhile, I can't wait to share some of my favorites today.

Mike and I recently sat down and had a discussion and decided to officially make a change in our home to essential oils. We have been using them sparingly for years, but we made the agreement that we should start actually switching out products in our home and replacing them with oils. And let me tell you, so far we do not regret it for a second. I have been loving experimenting, but one of my absolute favorites is peppermint. It is so perfect to diffuse with lemon to wake us up in the morning, or with pine and evergreen to get our house smelling like a Christmas tree. It is also great to rub a dot along your hairline if you have a headache (seriously, it works like magic). My all time favorite thing I started doing with this little guy, though, is adding a drop into my black coffee. It adds SO much flavor and tastes like Christmas in a cup, but has almost no calories! I have been enjoying this little combo every morning lately, and I don't think I will be stopping any time soon.

Christmas Pajamas
I can never get enough of holiday pajamas. I try to scoop up clearance pairs at the end of the season for the boys to wear the following year, but I can never resist getting an additional pair or two when the new styles come out. I love this car set, this has to be one of my favorite Christmas décor trends lately. I am always a sucker for a classic plaid set, and I'm pretty sure the quote on this pair was made for Lincoln. This final pair is such a classic, I just love little one piece sets like this.

Blush Finds
I always love finding a fun pair of pants to wear to work. Black dress pants can start to feel blah after awhile, so really how much fun is this blush pair!? Not only are they my favorite color, but they have the prettiest shimmer/sheen to them. And I saw this sweatshirt in Target and it came home with me immediately! It is so soft and cozy, and is perfect for lounging around on the weekends. I'm not sure if and when I'll stop with all of the blush things, they are just too good.

Lincoln Lately
This week I shared a bit of what Lincoln has been up to at 18 months old. He is our wild child for sure, but always keeps us on our toes and is at the cutest stage right now. I swear, I could eat him up!

Copycat Barbacoa Recipe
If you have not tried the barbacoa at Chipotle, you are seriously missing out. This stuff is so darn good, so last week I decided to attempt a copycat recipe at home. And it turned out SO good. I made some copycat cilantro lime rice and copycat corn salsa, and it truly tasted exactly like what I would get at the restaurant. Seriously, you will not regret making this stuff; Mike deemed it one to 'add to the book'. And if Mike approves, everyone probably will ;-)

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend-we are getting a heat wave after our cold week and will hopefully see some temps in the 40s. Funny how things change when you live in Minnesota!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday the 13th friends! Nothing more spooky than this day falling in the month of October! I think this calls for extra cups of coffee, snuggling up on the couch, and watching Hocus Pocus to celebrate. Also, if I see a black can today you can most definitely find me running in the opposite direction ;-) It has been awhile, so I can't wait to share some of my favorites lately!
1. Sueded Moto Jacket
Finally, on an awesome sale, I scooped up the moto jacket from Old Navy I have had my eye on! It is seriously the softest jacket I have ever worn, and it is so stretchy! I absolutely love the camel color too, it is a fun change of pace. I could not recommend it more-and it is on sale right now!
Jacket // Jeans // Sweater c/o // Booties
2. Light Wash Jeans
I am so in love with my new light wash jeans. I had seriously been on the hunt for the perfect pair for a solid month or two, and finally found them. They are a lower rise, but still come up high enough that I don't feel like a teeny-bopper wearing them, ya hear me? ;-) All jeans at AE are currently on sale, too! The current prices are some of the best I have seen, other great options are this pair and these, too!
3. Fall Themed Letterboards
I have been having so much fun playing around with my letterboard, especially now that we are into my favorite season! I decked out the little corner of our kitchen with some spooky décor (aka paper bats and fake spider webs), and smile every time I see it. I just love having a home to fill with little traditions!
4. Pumpkin Patch
Last weekend, we took the boys to a local pumpkin patch for the first time. I would actually call it less of a pumpkin patch, and more of a corn maze/activity center, but they both absolutely loved it! There was a bouncy thing (I honestly can't even think of how to accurately describe it, because it wasn't a house but also wasn't a trampoline. Jackson had an absolute blast jumping on it! Lincoln was all about running around in whichever direction we didn't want him to go, but that is what being a toddler is all about, right? ;-) I am absolutely loving being at a stage with our kiddos where we can finally start doing these fun outings!
5. New Blankets
This past week, we got a new throw blanket for the living room, as well as some cuddly blankets from the boys from Saranoni Blankets and we are O.B.S.E.S.S.E.D. with them! I cannot put into words how soft they are. The throw blanket is the most perfect soft and neutral shade, which I love because it will allow me to keep it on the couch all of the time to mix and match with my seasonal throws I put out. I always keep two throws on the couch, because, his and hers ;-)

I hope you all have the best fall weekend! I am probably (okay, definitely) going to be making more apple spiced desserts with the windows open, and just maybe will attempt to grab some family photos outside! The trees are entering peak right now, and it is just absolutely gorgeous!

Friday Favorites-Mid September

Well, it is Friday, and it is mid-September, and it is supposed to be nearly 90 degrees today. For you southerners I suppose that isn't saying much, but my Minnesota soul is just not equipped to handle temperatures that high, let alone at this time of the year! Of course, after today it is nothing but 60s and even some days in the 50s! Fall, I see you coming, and I am so ready for you!
1. A New Phone
Well, I finally bit the bullet after literally months of waiting and finally got the iPhone 7 Plus! You guys, I am so obsessed! After my very sad story of washing my iPhone 6 shortly after moving into our new house, I was rocking my old iPhone 5 until I was finished making the payments on my nonfunctioning phone. Kind of depressing, right? I told myself I had to wait until I could get the 7+ at the same amount as my current monthly payment, and that number finally happened, YAY I am finally working with a phone that takes pictures that actually look amazing. I wanted this phone for the camera features, and they truly do not disappoint. That, and the battery has a life longer than four hours which is a plus ;-) Now, wish me luck in not letting this thing anywhere near a washing machine, ever.
I am seriously so obsessed with the portrait feature on this phone!

2. Vivora Niko Chair
This week the boys were so excited when this adorable vivora niko ball arrived. Jackson thinks the bear face on it is about the coolest thing ever. He has been loving using it to sit when he is at his chalkboard, and Lincoln prefers to drag it around by the ear ;-) It is a great tool to help kids with better balance, and even functions as an exercise ball. I love how cute it looks; it is such a great addition to the play room that really adds to the space!

3. Blush Sneakers
Do you all remember the coveted DV blush sneakers from Target last spring that sold out absolutely everywhere? Well, they are back in stock! I have seen then in my local stores, and it looks like all sizes are currently available online! If you had been wanting these, I would suggest buying them now before they sell out again!
4. Fresh Palette
So I think I managed to fully skip mentioning this (what kind of blogger am I?) but it was my birthday two weeks ago! The big 2-8! My sweet sister surprised me with a new eyeshadow and highlighter palette, and I am LOVING IT. I had been using the remnants of my old Naked palette and was definitely due for something new. It is designed by Carli Bybel, and I love the blush and gold tones to this one, and have been having a lot of fun mixing and matching the new options! I highly recommend it!
5. Toddler Talk
I shared some of my favorite things Jackson says earlier this week, and I have to say, the nipple comment is by far the one that people seemed to laugh at the most ;-) I cannot say it enough, but sometimes I forget that a year ago at this point in time, we were having him assessed for speech therapy and were so concerned as he essentially said five words, at most. Now, we literally cannot get him to stop talking. He tells stories, plays make believe, and wakes up every morning and immediately needs to know where the last toy he was playing with before bedtime the night before is. I just love hearing his little voice so much. Head over to read up on the funny things our little man says!

I hope you all have a fabulous Friday. You guys, we are only a week away from the most magical month of the year!!
