Early Black Friday Sales

If there is one thing I love the internet for, it is online shopping. Truly, unless I am going to Target or the grocery store, I really don't have many things that I don't purchase online anymore. It is just so much more convenient, and whenever a package arrives on the door it feels like a little bit like a present..to myself ;-) With the internet being so accessible, it is no wonder why many stores have started offering their Black Friday deals well before that early Friday morning after Thanksgiving. You can get shopping today and start saving, and even scoop up a cozy sweater at a sweet deal to wear tomorrow if you are up for a trip to the mall!

Express: Everything 50% off plus free shipping
This store always has the BEST sweaters, perfect for those cozy family get togethers. This chenille cardigan looks ridiculously cozy, thrown over a t-shirt and you are good to go! I absolutely love how feminine and cozy this off the shoulder sweater is. And this oversized ruffle sweater is the most gorgeous pink sweater. Express also has incredible denim, and at 50% off right now this pair is an amazing deal. And I don't care what anyone says, white denim after labor day is a definitely DO in my book. Now is the perfect time to stock up on a dress if you have any winter weddings or holiday parties coming up, and I just love this sequin shift dress (how perfect for NYE!?), and this cozy sweater dress with such a unique hem.

Gap: 50% off of everything with code BLKFRIDAY
I had to scoop up this ruffle cold shoulder sweater the second I saw it! So soft, and comes in tall which I love! This metallic midi skirt is so classy but perfect for the holidays. Because I am clearly obsessed with sparkles, I am all about this sequin dress. This poncho looks ridiculously comfortable and perfect for the chilly winter nights ahead. And not forgetting the little ones, these fair isle pajamas are perfect for both boys and girls!

Old Navy: 50% off of everything, no code needed
Old Navy is my tried and true go-to store for pretty much everything. These lightwash jeans have become my new favorite, I pretty much live in them on the weekends. I love anything with buffalo check, and have been eyeing up this cardigan for weeks-it looks SO cozy. This adorable sweatshirt would be perfect to wear on a low-key NYE night at home. I love wearing ankle booties, and when I saw that these are metallic I about died. This glitter belt could be the perfect accent to any holiday look.

Nordstrom: Take up to 50% off
Nordstrom always has items marked at great prices during Black Friday, and their sale prices are live today, too! How cozy does this sweater tunic look? This pullover sweater is a classic and at this price is sure to sell out this weekend. If you have ever eyed up Kendra Scott, these necklaces are currently on sale! I am still loving faux leather leggings, and these are perfect. This pretty sweater is super similar to the one I found at Gap! I love the tie detailing at the bottom of the sleeves on this sweater. The fun cutout detail on this dress makes it so edgy and still feminine.  I am a sucker for satin and think I may need this shirt for work. This long tie sleeve jacket is SO pretty-I am thinking worn over a dress. And this gorgeous sweater is SO perfect for the holidays, I just love all of the detailing.

Other sales happening today:
Loft: 40% off of everything with code GIFTITUP
J Crew: 40% off with code THANKU
Target: early access to Black Friday deals online for Red Card holders

Small Shops Worth Knowing

If there is one thing I have loved more than anything about blogging and the connections I have made in this little space, it has been the introduction to so many fun, unique, and inspiring small shops. Most of these businesses are owned and operated by mothers, and it always means so much to know that I am not just supporting a business, but helping to support their beautiful families, too. The personalization of these small shops is incredible; I have gotten to know the owners personally, and as a result want to shout it from the rooftops that I know first hand just how amazing their products and service truly are.

With the holidays just around the corner (I know I know, I just went there), I thought it would be fun to round up a few of my absolute favorite small shops. These items are all so unique and one of a kind, perfect for those most important people in your life!

1. Mcleod Letter Co.
I was so excited to finally get a letterboard this summer, and the sweet folks at Mcleod Letter Co. did not disappoint. Kimberly is one of the absolute sweetest people I have ever met, and she is also so responsive, helpful in answering questions, and invested in her products. I use my letterboard to put up fun quotes, messages for birthdays/holidays, and have let Mike take over a time or two, which usually results in something ridiculous and silly, but he seems to enjoy himself so I oblige. If you don't have a letterboard in your home, I couldn't recommend getting one more. They are the perfect piece to have available for events, to add to your décor, and let you have fun being creative.

2. Saranoni Blankets
These blankets. Oh my goodness you guys, these blankets. They are the softest, most plush blankets I have ever felt. And I don't know about you, but in my opinion a person can never have too many cozy blankets around the house, especially during those cold winter months. These blankets are so perfect for that person that isn't the easiest to shop for, because like I said-no one will say no to some extra cozy being added to the house.

3. Loopy Cases
How many loved ones do you know (or maybe just you) who have dropped their cell phone in the toilet, on the floor, or even on their own face right before bedtime? Loopy Cases have truly been a lifesaver since I got my new and improved iPhone 7 Plus. I don't solely utilize the loop when I am on my phone; it is helpful for having an extra hold on it when I have my hands full, really making me feel more secure and less inclined to drop my phone. These cases come in lots of basic colors, but I am personally obsessed with the marbling on this case!

4. Wonderbly Books
These personalized children's books are absolutely incredible. They have multiple different options, including Lost My Name and The Birthday Thief. These books are so detailed, and through filling out multiple details while ordering, every last page is customized especially for the child who it is being given to. These books are so special, and are total keepsake items. And seeing a little one light up when they see their own name and a character that looks like them on the pages of a book; magical.

5. Made By Mary
There is nothing sweeter than a personalized necklace. Whether it be for yourself, a grandma, or a close friend, there are countless ways to personalize these pretty bar and moon necklaces. I had mine engraved with 'Jax+Link', and I love carrying that little reminder of my boys with me every day. And the necklaces are absolutely beautiful-I would wear them even without the personalized detail because they are so pretty!

6. Slumberkins
These adorable snuggly creatures are some of the cutest things I have ever seen, and function similar to a lovey blanket. Each Slumberkin is developed around a social skill and has an accompanying Sleepytime Rhyme and keepsake Affirmation Card. My littlest guy is obsessed with anything soft and cozy, so these are a no brainer and are a gift I know he would be absolutely obsessed with. The shop owners are two mamas who personally design each and every piece, with the best outcomes for your children in mind!

7. Uncommon Goods
If you are truly searching for something unique, one of a kind, and out of the box, Uncommon Goods has you covered. They host unique pieces from numerous small shops, and have everything from cheeseboards to toys for kids to taco booties for babies. I love that all of the items are from small, self-owned businesses; as with all of these brands, it is so awesome to know who you are supporting when you purchase an item! This site is seriously perfect for that tricky person who you never know quite what to get!

8. Cuddle+Kind
One more gift for the kiddos, these Cuddle+Kind dolls are hand knit, and serve a greater good. For every doll sold, 10 meals are donated to children in need. This sweet company is owned by a small family who has a passion for helping children in need, and the dolls are just precious. To date, they have given over 1.5 million meals! I am constantly blown away by how generous and kind-hearted the owners of these small shops truly are.

9. Flipside Prints
Flipside prints are so much fun, and my boys are absolutely obsessed with them! They attach to a magnetic strip on your wall, and whenever you wish, you are able to flip them, which each side of the panel displaying a different image! They come on clean, white pieces, which make them perfect additions to a play room or nursery. The owner, David, is so kind and invested in his product, constantly striving to improve and build upon what he has already created.

10. Captain Sillypants
I think one of the easiest ways to spruce up your baby's nursery is with adorable sheets. I am absolutely obsessed with our Captain Sillypants crib sheets. They are SO soft, and on top of that, the pattern is absolutely adorable! The little girl options are seriously the CUTEST-I want to scoop up everything in the shop!

I really cannot say enough about all of the amazing small shops I have been able to discover through this community. So many of these people are busy parents, doing their best to provide for their families while pursuing their passions. I love shopping small!

What are some of your favorite places to shop small?

Friday Favorites-Last of July

Happy Friday, friends! I am going to be keeping today short and sweet, because it is wedding weekend! My little brother is getting married, so this weekend is going to be a busy one! I am off of work today to help out with any last minute things and to hang out with my boys. Cheers to a long weekend!

1. Ruffle Tank
I scooped up this pretty asymmetrical ruffle tank from Nordstrom's sale, and am so in love! I am obsessed with the pretty pink color, and all of the delicate detailing. And, even though it has an asymmetrical look, it is modest enough that I can definitely wear it to work!
I posted a photo on Instagram this week and I got SO many comments on my jeans. They are from American Eagle, and are high rise and super stretchy. And, they are on clearance for less than $30! I highly recommend them!
3. Bedroom Décor
You guys, I finally got some wall décor for our master bedroom! While the room as a whole is pretty put together, it just isn't quite complete yet. I got this through Dear Lily Mae and am super impressed with it. I cannot wait to get this sign hunt above our bed, and then my new mirror above our dresser. I love how it is the little details that really make your house feel cozy and like home.
4. Patio
Mike finished our patio last weekend! That man has a labor of love into this project. He worked for eight hours last Saturday in the terrible humidity, and then twelve hours straight on Sunday. He literally came in for five minutes for two meals, and worked straight through all day. He did such a good job, and I definitely need to treat him to dinner or something, because the hours he put in ended up being a LOT. But you guys, it turned out so great! We don't have any furniture out there yet, but both boys have already enjoyed getting to go in our back yard and eat popsicles after dinner ;-) I plan to share our whole process to this project sometime in the near future, so be on the lookout!

5. Brothers
These guys. They try to kill each other about 75% of the time. But when they decide to be sweet together, it literally turns my heart into a puddle. Jackson led Lincoln around our yard holding his hand the whole time, and I pretty much died.

And with that, I am off to do all of the wedding things! Have a great weekend!

Nordstrom Sale! Roundup For the Public Sale

As much as I would like to, I am not one of the lucky Nordstrom Card holders. You're welcome, husband ;-) Despite giving it a thought (or three), I held off and decided to wait to do any shopping until the sale opens to the public. And tomorrow is the day! There are so many awesome pieces during the sale this year that I am dying to get my hands on! This sale is seriously the best. I don't think I can think of another sale that puts brand new items on sale when they are released, before returning them to their regular prices in August. This is the perfect opportunity to snag up any fall goodies you may be wanting before the season arrives!

Tops
Similar to the popular option from last year, this striped tee is so cute! I love a classic black and white stripe, and I am always so happy with the items this brand rolls out. I am dying to get my hands on this v neck sweater. Again, I am all about classic pieces, and I am speaking from experience when I say these will get there worth in wear, and then some! The coveted blardigan is once again included in the sale, and I am shocked there are still some in stock. If you are wanting one, do not hesitate to get it! One of my favorite fall staples is a plaid shirt, and I love the feminine cut and details on this one; and it is such a great length! You can never have too many long, cozy cardigans. This tunic may not be exclusive to this sale, but yes, I own it in five colors, and yes I wear one to work almost daily. I am in love with the blue fog color and think I need to add it to my collection. Speaking of work, my wardrobe always gets neglected and stale, and I am always on the hunt for more knit blazers, they are so professional while still being comfortable! I adore this ruffle tee, the detailing is absolutely darling. And while I am all about basic pieces, I adore this bow OTS top, I think it would be so perfect for date night with some dark skinnies! And last but not least, while cooler weather may seem like it is ages again, this moto jacket will come in handy sooner than you would think, and I love the fun, edge style!

Bottoms
The coveted zella leggings are once again included in this sale! Again, a piece that, if you want, you should snag while you can! And how pretty is this pink option!? These jeans have such great distressing, and are at a great price! These Madewell black skinnies come in at a great sale, and if you are looking for a more affordable black skinny, these are adorable, too! I am a huge fan of boyfriend jeans, and love the wash on these! For work I also love to wear skirts, and love the pretty foil look of this one! You can also never go wrong with a classic pencil skirt. For a fun flair, I am OBSESSED with the ruffle hem on this skirt!

Dresses
Dresses have and always with be one of my favorite things to shop for. This blue sheath dress is absolutely darling and I am already plotting where I could wear it. This sweater dress is so edge while still being pretty in a soft pink color. Bell sleeves add the prettiest detailing here. This lace midi dress is gorgeous and would be so perfect to wear to a wedding. And I literally love every single detail on this dress from the stripes, to the color, to the shoulder details!

I'll stop there, before even touching on the accessories or home pieces I am lusting over! Have you shopped the sale early, or did you wait until the sale went public? What are some of your favorites!?

Friday Favorites

Hello, hello! It has been awhile since I posted my Friday Favorites. The summer blogging slump is so, so real. Is anyone else just totally unmotivated lately!? I have such a hard time sitting down at my computer when it is sunny and there is a cold adult beverage calling my name and a kiddie pool that needs to be supervised ;-) Summer is so short, I am trying to soak in every last minute! But go figure, it is cloud and only in the 60's today, so here I am! I have plenty of exciting things I have been loving lately, so let's get to it!

You guys, I finally did it. I got a letterboard! After much searching, I finally decided to go with Mcleod Letterboard Co. Their prices are excellent, and Kimberly, the owner, is so sweet and provides exceptional customer service. I got a 16x20 board, as I figured it would provide more versatility and we would be able to use it in more ways. I cannot wait to share all of the ways we use it!!

Jackson has been all over the letterboard..and the letter O. He clearly loves to help decorate.
2. New Patio!!
This is by far my favorite thing happening right now! Last night, we officially went and purchased pavers and all the things we need to put in our new patio!! If you have followed along with our home building process, you may know that we essentially moved in with zero work being done to the yard. We didn't even have grass that we could be out on until just this past month! Our lot is huge, and sometimes it gets so frustrating to have this big, beautiful yard but essentially feel like I can't use it. I am so ridiculously excited for this patio. We will finally have a place to put our grill outside of the garage, and I cannot wait to get a table and chairs and be able to sit outside in the evening! I will be sure to share the progress as we move forward!
3. Fun office look
I recently scooped up this pencil skirt, and love it so much! The side zipper is such a fun detail that makes it a little bit edgy, and there is a great amount of stretch to the fabric while still being structured. The length is nice and long too, perfect for the office. And, it was already on sale plus I had an extra coupon, so I was able to snag it for only $23! I have to say, I think my favorite pencil skirts are all from Express; they know what they are doing!
4. My (still) Favorite Shorts!
I have shared these shorts before, but they continue to be my go-to shorts this summer. They are so unbelievably comfortable, and look great with just about everything. I cannot recommend them enough! There is a mega sale on these tomgirl shorts, too, but sizes are limited. I haven't seen them priced this low so if you see your size now is the time to grab them!

Shorts
5. The Prettiest Fall Sweater
I know everyone is focused on the Nordstrom sale (I will be recapping my favorites when it opens up to us poor non-cardholders ;-) ), but other stores are totally rolling out their fall goodies, too! Gap has this adorable pink sweater and I am obsessed with the pontelle detailing. Right now, their website is an additional 40% off with code NOW, so if you are need to scoop up some goodies, today is a great day to do so!

We have another exciting weekend ahead; yard work to prepare for the pavers that we will hopefully have completed by next weekend, helping take newborn photos of my new nephew, and hopefully meeting my new niece! Five boys, and the streak is finally broken on my husband's side ;-)

Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale

Let's be real, Nordstrom always runs great sales that happen all of the time. I don't think I have EVER seen my favorite tunics listed at full price ;-) But that doesn't mean they don't put on a killer sale! In anticipation of their early access sale in July where they release all of their brand new fall inventory at sale prices, today they launched their spring and summer sale! I gathered up some of my favorites below, these are some amazing items at great prices. And with summer just beginning, now is the perfect time to scoop them up!
For my fellow moms, because we all know it is true ;-)

Tops
I don't think the off the shoulder trend is going anywhere soon, and I love this one.  And close behind the off the shoulder trend is one shoulder, and this striped option is adorable. Floral and drawstrings make this top the perfect spring piece. The cross front trend is huge right now, and I love this pretty mauve color. And, for those warmer days this summer (or for now for my friends in the south) this pretty crochet tank is perfect! If you are looking for white, off the shoulder, and eyelet, this is your shirt. And for a date night, this look is so delicate and feminine, I am in love!

Bottoms
I have heard so many rave reviews about the zella leggings, and these are at a great price and high waisted. By now you should know I am ALL about the high waist ;-) If you are in the market for a pair of blush skinnies, look no further (blush and high waisted. DONE!) And if you are in the market for a new pair of jeans, these ripped ankle jeans are great!

Dresses
This midi lace dress is absolutely stunning. It would be perfect to wear to a summer wedding. I love the cold shoulder detailing and color of this one, it would work in both summer and the cooler months. One of my absolute favorite dresses I wore last year sold out, but this similar option is available in the prettiest sunshine yellow color! This cute swing tank dress looks so lightweight and perfect for a casual day. We all need a basic maxi dress, and this option fits the bill! This pretty lace dress is at a total steal right now, definitely a great wedding guest outfit. It is officially the season of whites, and this dress is so simple yet elegant. And finally, this gorgeous bell sleeve dress is so professional feeling, but the bell sleeves give it the most fun little twist!

Accessories
First things first; my all time favorite rhinestone cross ring is once again on sale for only $7! This crossbody bag is so darling, and I love the laser cutouts. My favorite stud earrings are in a two pack and at a great price. This layered necklace in rose quartz is just beautiful, because I can't stop won't stop wearing blush! These sunnies are so fun and trendy. I love a good backpack purse, and at under $30, this one is a steal! My favorite pendant necklace is on sale, it is such a pretty necklace at an amazing price! And to match, how fun are these rose colored drop earrings?!
And to spruce up any outfit, this combination necklace is so cute and would be great with a simple tee to bring your outfit up a notch!

Happy shopping friends, and happy hump day!

Life Lately: Favorite Target Finds

I have a serious question. Is there any place in this world greater than Target? Okay, that isn't a serious question, because the answer is obviously NO. Disney World is pretty high up there, but Target may in fact be my very favorite place. I was so excited to see Allie hosting a linkup of our favorite Target finds, and my biggest problem is honestly narrowing the list down. I want all of the things at Target!

1. Shoes
These shoes have gotten a lot of attention across the blog world this spring, and for good reason. They are so darn cute, and super comfortable! And with a sale, I scooped them up for a mere $17. I know inventory fluctuates, but if you see them available in your size, you need to get them!

2. Cleaner
My sweet friend Chelsea introduced me to these delicious cleaners, and I am hooked. I have the grapefruit and sea salt and lime scents, and they make cleaning so much more fun! They are extra motivation to wipe down and disinfect my counters at night, because my kitchen smells so darn delicious after!

3. Dish Soap
Okay, my age and mom status are totally showing, but I am also obsessed with this dish soap lately! I always hate having to get it out every time I do dishes, but I also hate leaving a bottle on the counter. I love that this can be left out next to our hand soap, and is a bit less of an eye sore. It also makes it so easy to put a few pumps into the water in the sink for easy dish washing!

4. Bookends
I am still obsessing over these Pineapple bookends, you guys. I was so upset that the ones left in my store were damaged so I couldn't bring myself to buy them in less that perfect condition. And by the time I put that together, the sale they were on had ended. And I always wait for a good sale. ;-) These are hanging out in my cart and I need to make them mine!

5. Iced Coffee
These almond milk iced coffees are so good. I grabbed one on a whim one day, and couldn't believe how tasty it was. While not super cheap, they are definitely still more affordable than you iced latte from the coffee shop. If you like coffee and almond milk, you will love these!

6. Comforter
While this isn't our newest purchase, I don't know if I ever appropriately raved about the comforter we purchased for Jackson's bed. His nautical nursery theme was something I wanted to carry over, as I am waiting on any kind of room design until he starts really expressing an opinion. This piece was perfect to tie in the navy and red of his room, and I accent with his original nursery quilt and décor. It is very soft, but durable meaning it is easy to wash, which is key with a toddler! I also figured with the colors it could easily transition as a hand me down to Lincoln if we ever redo Jackson's room, as they both have navy in their color schemes. Practical, but seriously cute as well!

7. Candles
I am usually a Bath and Body Works girl when it comes to candles, but when I want to stock up and be a bit more frugal, I really like the two-wick options from Target! They melt pretty well and have some really yummy flavors. My most recent favorite scent was a sugared melon, it smelled incredible!

8. Vase
One weekend recently, I set out on a mission to furnish our fireplace mantle, which is very big and was very empty. In desperation, I grabbed this vase in two sizes, totally unsure if I would keep them or not. I threw in some green stems, and fell in love! They have a funky feel to them, and I was worried they may look too modern or harsh for the vision I had, but they fit just perfectly with the rest of our décor. I have seen them on major sale in our store, so while they are still in stock online, you may find them even cheaper in store!

I cannot wait to see the other finds that you all have picked up at Target lately!

Old Navy/Gap/Banana Republic Weekend Sale!

I don't usually blog on the weekends, but this morning I received a few e-mails notifying me of a sale that is just too good no to share. Today, everything at Old Navy, Gap, and Banana Republic is 40% off, no exclusions! This sales happens fairly often at the Gap, but it is not often for Old Navy or Banana Republic. And, they are offering free 2-day shipping on orders over $75! For those of you that don't shop these stores way too frequently like I do, that total is your pre-discount total, so as long as you hit $75 before taking 40% off, you will still get free shipping and have it in time for Easter baskets! And another bonus in case you didn't know, the three stores share a shopping cart, so you could, for instance, spend $25 at each store, but it will all go towards your grand total for free shipping! These are reasons number 500 and 501 why these are my go to stores! I rounded up a few deals that are too good to pass up. So grab that cup of coffee, curl up on the couch, and indulge in a little Sunday afternoon retail therapy!

For Her
I love the wrap detailing on this shirt dress, it really stands out from the rest. I still think these chinos are just the cutest. My favorite pair of white jeans that come in around $15 right now, you just can't beat. You know I couldn't create a shopping list without throwing in some pineapple. I love this army green dress and have already rocked it at work. This gingham dress is so cute and would be adorable to wear to church. Finally, the flutter sleeve on this top is SO pretty! And if you are looking for a cute cognac purse, this drawstring option is the cutest.

For Him
We can't forget about those men in our lives! I love guys in a classic poplin shirt. Every guy needs a canvas belt, and I love the fun stripes on this one. This mock neck jacket is so sharp, and for the casual days, these active wear fleece hoodies are great, my husband actually owns a few. For Easter, these pants are at an unbeatable price, paired with this button up and sweater.

For the Kiddos
My pajama obsession is no secret, and with the summer months coming up, I have been reminded that short options need to be added to the rotation. These are perfect because Mickey Mouse is the newest 'thing' in our house. This pair will be a hit, and this three-piece set is already on clearance, and is literally a steal! At The Gap, their organic collection is already 40% off, and then you get to take another 40% off on top of that, and as a pajama collecting champion I can tell you this is the best price you will get your toddler pajamas at Gap! These and these are both in my cart and will be on their way for Easter baskets.
For little ladies, of course there are plenty of options, too! This bunny set is too cute, and I wish I could get these in my size! And nothing beats my favorite princess on a pair of PJs!
If you already have a deep enough stash of jammies (I mean, is that even possible?) these jeans are the cutest to wear on Easter. Every lady, no matter how old, needs a pair of blush skinnies. This little dress is beyond precious, and I don't know if anything screams EASTER more than a precious little shirt and sweater for boys.

I hope you find some goodies and are able to take advantage of this sale. Happy Sunday, and happy shopping!

Spring Fashion for the Office

I don't know about you, but I am sick and tired of my 'winter' wardrobe. I am craving all things bright, colorful, and spring! It is time to swap out the thick, chunky items in dark and wintry colors. Give me all the florals, pastels and neons! I work a desk job that requires me to dress business casual, but that does not mean that my work wardrobe doesn't have seasons throughout the year just like my regular wardrobe. I love to swap out items, and cannot tell you how excited I am for the weather to be warm enough for me to start wearing pencil skirts again. Let me tell you, nothing makes you feel more polished and put together than a pencil skirt ;-) I rounded up some of my favorite fashions for the office that are available this spring, and am dying to share!

White Skirts
My mission this season is to find a cute white pencil skirt. I wear my black and navy skirts on rotation with my favorite tunic tucked in, and love them! I think white brings such a different look to this classic business style. Paired with a pretty blue or yellow top, and you look ready for spring and that fun board meeting that's on your calendar.

1 // 2 // 3 // 4

Blush Tops
I cannot stop loving all of the blush things. I really love wearing a blouse to work recently, it is just so much more classy and delicate than other options. The cold has forced me into a lot of thick sweaters the past few months, so I can't wait to start busting out my airy and pretty tops this spring!

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5

Maxi Dresses
I love, love, LOVE the fact that warmer weather makes it allowable to wear maxi dresses to work. I won't necessarily pull out this look on a day where I have an important meeting, but maxi dresses can be dressed up or down. Throw on a cute blazer or cardigan and it is totally office appropriate. And, at the end of the day when it warms up outside, you can ditch the jacket and be ready to run errands or hang out outside!

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5

White Pants
Similar to my love of white skirts, I am also obsessed with white pants! They just feel so fresh, and immediately brighten not only your look, but your mood too! I have been wearing mine already with booties this winter, but think they will look great with some nude flats in a month or so, as well!

1 // 2 // 3

Fun Blazers
Who said all blazers need to be neutral and safe? I love throwing on a floral blazer for a fun pop that is still professional. A bright colored blazer is a fun option too. And continuing on the blush train, this option with the cute cuffs on the bottom is my absolute favorite!

blazer 1 // blazer 2 // blazer 3 // blazer 4

Fun bottoms
Similar to the blazers, a pop of color in your pants is such a fun and unique way to liven up an outfit! I love to thrown on a pair of blush bottoms (again with the blush!) or even a bright red, and then pair with a neutral top. It is a great way to get noticed and stand out for the world of black and navy, while still keeping it classy.

What are some of your favorite items to wear to the office? How do you keep your work wardrobe from getting stale and boring?

All Things Pineapple: The Most Delicious Trend!

You guys! We are already halfway to the weekend! I spent the first half of the week at a work training, so today is my first day in the office this week, which definitely has me feeling a bit off kilter. Not only are we halfway through the week, but it is MARCH! It is such a good feeling to get through the brutal month of February every year. March in the Midwest still mean lots of snow and cold, but it is the home stretch. Soon enough, we will be able to start rocking spring dresses and cute shorts, and I cannot wait.
This year, I have noticed everything pineapple is the trend. Which is fine by me, because you know what is better than pineapple? Nothing. I decided to round up some of my favorite fun pineapple themed items today, whether you are looking to rock it on your clothing or in your home décor, pineapples are seriously everywhere!

How adorable are these little salt and pepper shakers? They would be so much fun for summer barbeques and celebrations. And with those summer meals, a fun cup is totally in order, too! Fun décor pieces in the home are a great way to pull in the pineapple trend, and HELLO this picture frame is adorable. I love to switch out throw pillows with the season, and this one is so fun and I love the gold metallic on it. I am also wanting fun pieces for the mantel, and I don't know why but I am obsessed with the idea of having a shiny, pretty pineapple to put up there. These bookends are so gorgeous, and fun while still being elegant!

I love a fun phone case, and this option is so cute and perfect for spring and summer. This little pouch is such a fun addition to throw in your purse to hold those odd and end items. I am always looking for a delicious smelling body wash, so anything that smells like pineapple is an absolute win in my book!

This pretty bracelet is the cutest piece, and yellow gold always has my heart. And this adorable swimsuit (from none other than Tar-jay) is about the cutest thing I have ever seen.
I shared these shorts last week, and am still just as obsessed with them. They are seriously the cutest!! And, if you need some for lounging, this pair is perfect, too. If you are into the romper trend, this little number is about the cutest thing I have ever seen, and would be perfect for a beach or pool day!

Wat are your favorite pineapple pieces? I seriously cannot get enough of this trend right now!

Baby Must Haves: 6-9 months

I cannot believe I have already made it through the first nine months with my little guy. They were long and hard, especially during that very real 4th trimester. Months six to nine really have been so much fun, though! He has grown and changed drastically. I love so much about every stage with my children, but I really think nine month olds are up there as one of my favorites. They are so sweet, playful, innocent, and wonderful. I think this age is what you would find in the dictionary if you looked up 'baby'. Sweet, precious goodness, and smiles for days.
I have rounded up some of my favorite items over the past few months. After having two babies, these are the things that truly have been game changers for us!

1. A jumperoo is an absolute must. Both of my boys got so much use out of this thing. There are a lot of varieties out there, but this one allows a lot of 'bouncing', and doesn't limit baby on how much they can use their little legs. There are lots of toys for entertainment, and heights can be adjusted as baby grows. We tested out a few others, but I can say with confidence that this one will not be a regret!

2. Both of my boys went through phases of refusing the pacifier, but once we did a bit of sleep training, the wubbanub was a life saver. Our sweet boy now uses this thing all of the time. The sweet plush toy acts a bit like a stuffed animal, so when bedtime comes, it is a natural piece that our little guy can snuggle with and get some extra comfort. And, they are adorable. Is there anything cuter than a baby with a pacifier? I think not!

3. One thing I purchased for my first baby that I would never do the second time around was shoes. They fall off, bother baby, and really are just not worth the effort. Even now at nine months, Lincoln doesn't wear shoes all that often. However, I have found that moccasins are the best option when you do want your little one donning something on their precious feet. The elastic around the ankles and the fact that they slide on easily yet also stay on is huge. They are great for new walkers too, because they are lightweight and don't hinder baby in learning to move on their own.

4. Both of my boys have drooled a ridiculous amount. So much, in fact, that they would soak through 4-5 bibs a day. Ick. A lot of bibs didn't hold moisture well, and once I discovered bandana bibs I really didn't look back. They are absorbent, super soft, and sit around baby's neck so much more comfortably. I bought them in bulk packs, and once I started using them I basically did away with all of our old bibs. And they are so cute and trendy! I love that they are a drool catcher disguised as a trendy little accessory ;-)

5. I do not, and do not know if I ever will, understand the whole Sophie the Giraffe trend, but without fail, every single baby loves this toy! Something with its design is so perfect for a teething baby. I would have laughed at anyone who told me I would spend $25 on a teething toy, but after buying at least that much in failed products, I can tell you that silly little giraffe is 100% worth the investment.

6. During this stage, both of my boys learned to roll over during the night. Which usually resulted in a rough sleep period for our entire house. This time around, I was lucky enough to receive a DockATot, and it is AMAZING. It provides comfort, protection, and stability for baby. While my now mobile little guy certainly can roll over when he is awake and active, it keeps him pretty darn stationary while asleep. It is also amazing for when you are on the go. We throw it in the trunk and bring it to grandma's house for easy naptime, without the hassle of dangerous bed naps surrounded by pillows. We love our DockATot!

7. Perhaps this is less of a need for those in warmer climates, but we need hats every day for about six months out of the year with our babies, and these beanies are a favorite! Thick hats are great, but those little babies are toasty creatures, and these beanies are lightweight, while still being warm. They are also fitted great, so they work on newborns with a roll or two around the bottom, yet unrolled will even comfortably fit my toddler. They come in so many cute colors and styles, too! I die a thousand deaths every time I see my baby rocking a beanie. It is too cute to handle.

8. I learned quickly that the road to solid foods is different with every baby. My first was a huge baby food fan, while Lincoln will barely touch the stuff. Baby led weaning has been our process this time around, and it was really our baby's choice. Both of my boys have loved puffs, though. They are wonderful for helping with hand-eye coordination, and don't fill baby up too much, so they are nice to give when we are trying to prep dinner and can stick our little guy in his high chair with a snack! They also dissolve pretty darn quickly, so they are a great transitional tool for babies who don't quite have the ability to eat many solids, but are learning!
9. It gets cold here in the winter. And nothing is worse than trying to decide whether to let your baby freeze at night, or risk covering them with blankets, which we have all learned is a no-no. My little guy loves to be snuggly, so I was stumped for awhile. My dear friend Brittany posted on Swaddle Designs sleep sacks, and once I gave them a try, I was hooked! You zip baby up, and it is like a wearable blanket. I got the fleece versions, but the cotton versions would be wonderful during the warmer months. We have multiples, and use them without fail for every nap and bedtime. They provide security and warmth, without any of the risk!

What are some of your favorite items for your baby during this stage? There are so many products out there nowadays, and I love to hear what works for others!
