Date Night Look

*This post is written in collaboration with Pink  Blush. Thank you for supporting the brands that support Stang&Co!

I don't know about you, but I always end up gravitating towards the same pieces for my closet. Basics for work, cozy things to wear around the house, and casual jeans and sweatshirts are my go-to items. I always have a hard time justifying the 'fun' purchases, because my current life just doesn't allow me to wear them all that often. But when I saw this pretty lavender number, I couldn't help but scoop it up for a fun date night look! We don't get out often enough, but with both of our birthdays and our anniversary all falling within a one month window, this time of the year allows us a few extra opportunities to go out. And when they are MY big days, I am able to demand we throw on something a little bit fancy, even though my hubby prefers to wear a hoodie 99% of the time ;-)
Top // Pants // Clutch (old, similar here, here, and here)

I love everything about this piece, from the tie detailing in the back, to the cutout shoulders, to the fluttery details on the sleeves. Confession time: this is actually a dress! But at 6 feet tall, it ended up workout perfectly as a tunic top for me, and I love how it looks tucked into the waistband; it completely changes the look and feel of it! It could still be used as a dress/tunic with a pair of leggings and booties, too.
What is your favorite look to wear for date night? And what is your favorite thing to do when you get a night out!?

One Last Hurrah for Summer Fashion

Raise your hand if you cannot believe summer is over? Seriously. The other day, I got an e-mail from my beloved Caribou Coffee that perks members officially have access to their Pumpkin Spice Lattes. I mean really, how is it possibly pumpkin spice season? When did this happen? I still just don't know if my fall loving heart is quite ready to kiss this summer goodbye.
While we may be on the brink of sweater weather (at least here in Minnesota), I am still squeezing out every last day of bright, colorful fashion that I can. I about died when I saw this kimono; the fringe, the pink and purple florals, and it has velvet in it! It is still very thin, but in person the velvet gives the most gorgeous shine and texture to it. It is such a fun piece, and I am going to continue rocking it until Minnesota weather tells me otherwise.
On another note, while it may be the season of pumpkin, my parents have two huge apple trees and as of this week some of them are officially ripe for the picking! I love pumpkin, but if we are being honest, apple is the flavor of fall that truly has my heart. I get all of the warm fuzzies already thinking of the Sunday afternoons spent baking up an apple crisp while the boys nap, the windows are open, and football is playing in the background. I guess maybe I am ready for fall, as long as it means eating all of the apple crisp ;-)
What are your thoughts of summer colors during the fall? Do you trade it all in for the warm neutrals, or are you a color person year round!?

Stop and Smell the Roses

Is anyone else in total disbelief that we are already into the second half of July? This summer is absolutely flying, a little bit too quickly. I have said it time and again, but I have never really been a summer person. The heat, the mosquitos, I really could do without it all. But this year, something magical seemed to happen. I cannot recall every loving a summer as much as this one.
Both of my boys live to play outside. We are in our beautiful new house, and have spent this summer tackling as many outdoor projects as we can (currently in progress: our brand new patio!) We have been spending lazy Saturday's soaking up the sunshine with family while all of the kiddos splash in the pool, stopping for popsicle breaks. This summer has been a sweet one. I feel like it is a summer we are always going to remember, and yet I also have a feeling that this may only be an indication of what is to come; that life with our boys as they grow is just going to get better and better. I may be cliché, but I really feel like I have been stopping to smell the roses and recognizing just how sweet our life is lately.

I am seriously in love with this pretty pink tassel top. Seriously, how perfect is this for summer!? It is plenty long, but thanks to my height I can wear it with shorts ;-) It would be so adorable with a pair of distressed skinny jeans, or a pair of white bottoms! The pretty tie detailing on the back is my absolute favorite part-such a fun touch and SO pretty! And, most importantly, this will be perfect to throw on over a swimsuit for those long, lazy, summer days that we have been living for!

The Perfect Summer Outfit

I don't know if there is a single thing I can think of that screams summer more than a casual tee and some cutoff shorts. I seriously live for denim shorts, and the more distressing and fun detailing, the better! And, while I tend to stick to basics for my tees, I am absolutely in love with the cross front trend happening lately. It is such a great way to keep a look simple, while adding in the perfect touch of flair!

I am in love with the pretty mauve color of this top, and the double cross detailing. It is so soft, flowy, and comfortable, perfect for errands and a casual afternoon, but cute enough that it can totally be dressed up into more than just a basic 'tee'.

What are some of your go-to closet staples during the summer months? I am still in disbelief that it is already June and summer is officially in full swing!

White Lace [And a Giveaway!]

I love a white top. I am not sure if there is anything more versatile, flattering, or easy than the color white. I am also crazy about all of the lace going around this season, and I knew when I saw this pretty white lace kimono that I had to scoop it up! It is a 'one size fits all' piece, and thrown on over a white tank top, it is perfect for sprucing up an everyday outfit. Paired with a classic pair of skinny jeans and some cute shoes, and you are good to go!

Black and White

I love spring. Of course to anyone that lives in a cold weather state, that really shouldn't come as any sort of surprise. There is nothing more refreshing than seeing everything come back to life; the green grass, the pops of color as flowers begin to bloom. It is one of the greatest times of the year! And, while I love getting in the spring spirit with lots of pretty pastels and floral patterns, I also think there is something so classic about black and white that works year round. PinkBlush is one of my favorite places to find cute, fashionable pieces.

Top c/o Pink Blush // Pants // Shoes
I love the off the shoulder look of this top, while still having a strap so you are not constantly having to pull it up. It is made of such a nice fabric, and is so delicate and flowy. It is perfect for a night out with the girls, but will be so cute this summer paired with some jean shorts and sandals, too! If you are looking for a trendy online boutique, you just cannot beat the PinkBlush.

What are some of your favorite off the shoulder looks? This is one trend that I am absolutely loving lately!

Spring Fashion With Pink Blush [and a giveaway!]

I don't know if there is anything in this world that I love more than putting on a pretty new dress. They are my guilty pleasure. Any wedding, holiday, or party is almost always welcomed as an opportunity for me to purchase a pretty new frock. I just cannot help myself.
Last year, I was eight months pregnant at this time of year and wasn't fitting into a lot of my usual clothing. I was lucky enough to partner with Pink Blush Maternity and was so in love with the pretty lace dress that I was able to wear from their shop. It was the perfect piece to make me feel pretty during those less than glamorous months of pregnancy. And, I was so impressed with their items that I purchased my hospital robe from them, too! It was such a great way to feel pretty during my hospital stay, while also still being totally comfortable. I just love Pink Blush.
This year I am definitely not pregnant, but I was thrilled at the opportunity to work with Pink Blush again. While they are well known for their maternity line, nearly all of their pieces come in non maternity styles, as well! With all of the showers and Easter on the agenda this spring, I knew I wanted a delicate, floral dress. I about died when I saw this ivory option. You guys, it is SO pretty, I cannot get enough of it. And on top of being gorgeous, it is so comfortable!

I was officially sold on this dress when I realized that it has POCKETS. Whoever decided to add pockets to dresses was an actual genius.
I added a green belt that happened to match perfectly that I had lying in my closet, and I love how it helped define my waist a bit. This dress would really be perfect for just about anything because it can be dressed up or down. I love clothes, and I love shopping, but I am 100% serious when I say this is my favorite dress that I have worn in a long time.

Be sure to head over to my Instagram to enter for a chance to win a $50 gift card to Pink Blush for yourself! It is open through 8pm CST Saturday, April 15th. By leaving a comment on this post, you will receive a bonus entry!
