Weekending: The New Year!

Happy Monday everyone! As sad as I always am to see the holidays come to an end, I almost dare I say looked forward to the start of this new week. Perhaps it's because we don't have our own 'home' this year, or my husband and baby were sick, or perhaps just because we haven't had a 'normal' schedule going once since August. To go to work, not have school to think about, no morning sickness, and look forward to a normal, event free weekend really sounds like the best thing ever right now! For those of you who missed it, we did announce the gender of baby #2 on Friday! We are so excited and I have already been having to reel myself in from doing too much shopping! #babyjammiesgetmeeverytime

Last week we all had Friday off for the new year, so Mike and I went to my parents on New Year's Eve for a prime rib dinner! Jackson also did a lot of cutting his naps short and throwing off everyone's schedules over the holidays, so he was crashing as we ate and poor guy could barely keep his eyes open. We enjoyed our meals, and then packed up to head home shortly after. When we got home I put the little guy to bed, cuddled up into bed, and was out by 9pm. Wild. and. crazy. ;-) Mom life, for the win!

On New Year's Day, Mike, Jackson and I loaded up and went to Ihop for breakfast, just to get out of the house for a bit. Is it just me, or are their hashbrowns saltier and ten times more delicious than hashbrowns from everywhere else!? I could eat them all day, every day!We honestly spent the rest of the day just lounging around, doing laundry, and of course, a weekend must, ordering pizza for dinner!

On Saturday we ran some errands in town, hitting up Target and Old Navy, and swinging by my parents for a bit so that I could drop off baby and make a quick trip to the gym.
You know I am counting down to once again being the noticeably pregnant lady running on the treadmill that everyone scoffs at! Haha, not really, but there is just something to be said for what a gym session will do for your state of mind on cold, dreary winter days! We did also take advantage of the balmy 30 degree temps and bundled up for a walk.
Again, we concluded the day with lounging, and doing nothing.

Sunday, our little guy continued his terrible sleep schedule and had us all awake at 5:30am. He usually sleeps until 6:30 or 7, so to say it felt rough is an understatement. I had decided to make homemade cinnamon rolls, though, which are time consuming, so even with preparing the dough, letting it rise, making the rolls, letting them rise again, and finally baking, we were still eating by 8:30!
That, people, is how you know you were up too early. Waking up that early obviously meant our peanut was down for a nap by 9:30, and he fell asleep with his hand on my belly and the baby started kicking up a storm directly beneath his little palm.
It was such a sweet moment, now if only they continue to be so sweet and loving with one another as they grow up!
Jackson woke up with not so pleasant looking eyes and a runny nose, appearing to be exactly what his daddy had earlier in the week, so the rest of the day was spent cuddling a sad little man.
We did cap off the night with a Vikings win over the Packers though, so it's always fun to see them win the division!

And, because it is Monday, we started off the day with a little boy with red eyes glued shut from gunk, and a little nudist running away as I changed his diaper, who stopped in the doorway, smiled at me, and proceeded to pee all over the carpet before smirking and running away. Happy first week of the new year to all!

Linking up with BellaBiana, and Carylee today!
